AFC Leopards' character will be tested on Monday 19th July at City Stadium when they clash with league basement club Mahakama FC at 4PM. The tricky tie comes after Ingwe's dismal performance against league leaders Ulinzi last week going down by a solitary goal to gift the visitors with three points. In the Ulinzi match also at City Stadium, Leopards displayed perhaps one of its worst performances this year with the midfield completely lacking any ideas of moving the match forward. The two new signings failed to deliver with perplexed fans prompting coach Makokha to replace them before end of the match. The two Congolese imports Itubu Imbem and Desmonde Selenga also failed badly to threaten the lethargic defence of Ulinzi as the duo casually moved on with their business as if in a friendly match. Save for Skipper Imbalambala who showed signs of determination, the rest of the squad looked uninspired as if being bothered by external factors. For the youthful side to deliver against a revamped Mahakama, coach Makokha needs to change tact and deploy an attacking formation. Now downgraded to precarious position 10 on the standing, Ingwe needs to collect all the three points to stay away of the dreaded relegation zone that is fiercingly beckoning.(posted on 18/7/10 by Ingwe Reporter)
