AFC Leopards shrugged off its Confederation Cup early exit to hammer Thika United 1-0 at home. The precious win gifted Ingwe with maximum three points in its first premier league win this season pushing it in the top ten in the league standing ahead of bitter arch rivals Gor Mahia. The winner came in the 38th minute through a Demonde Selenga volley after a one-two combination with fellow Congolese import Itubu Imbem. The goal was well deserved after Leopards had terrorised the lethargic Thika United throughout the first half. Infact Leopards should blame themselves for failing to net in three or more goals after Itubu Imbem threw away several scoring chances before he was pulled off by head coach Chris Makokha."We are very happy with the result as it gives us the confidence to face our opponents in the next match," said a delighted Makokha who had taken flake for exiting the Confed Cup.
